Looking for a veterinary team that feels like the right fit?

At Shiloh Veterinary Hospital, we believe a great workplace starts with great people. We're looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant who takes pride in their work, genuinely cares about their patients, and enjoys being part of a team that supports one another.

We're a busy, collaborative hospital where everyone plays an important role. We work hard, celebrate our successes, help each other through challenging days, and believe that kindness and respect should always be part of the job.

If you're dependable, motivated, and love what you do, we'd love to meet you!

Why You'll Love Working at Shiloh

We're a 5-doctor, AAHA-accredited, Cat Friendly hospital located on the west side of Billings, Montana. We're passionate about providing exceptional veterinary care, but we're equally committed to creating a workplace where our team feels valued and supported.

Here's what makes Shiloh special:

  • A team that has your back. We believe in helping each other, communicating openly, and working together to make even the busiest days successful.
  • Supportive, approachable leadership. Our Hospital Manager and dedicated LVT/Tech Manager are actively involved in supporting the team.
  • A schedule that supports work-life balance. Enjoy four longer shifts per week instead of a traditional five-day schedule.
  • Time dedicated to learning. We have protected weekly time for team communication, training, and professional development.
  • Opportunities to use and grow your skills. Our technicians are involved in appointments, diagnostics, treatments, surgery, and patient care.
  • A culture built on kindness and respect. We value positive attitudes, teamwork, and people who genuinely care about doing a great job.

And yes, we're dog-friendly! You can even bring your dog to work!

Who We're Hoping to Find

We're looking for someone who brings both experience and a great attitude to the team.

Our ideal teammate is someone who:

  • Has previous hands-on experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant.
  • Is hardworking, reliable, and takes pride in providing excellent patient care.
  • Takes initiative and looks for ways to help without always being asked.
  • Is confident in their skills but always willing to learn and grow.
  • Treats patients, clients, and coworkers with kindness and compassion.
  • Enjoys staying busy and can adapt when the day doesn't go as planned.
  • Communicates well, accepts feedback, and contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Understands that teamwork means jumping in wherever help is needed.

We're not looking for someone who knows everything. We're looking for someone who cares, puts in the effort, and wants to be part of a team that does the same.

What Your Day Might Look Like

No two days in veterinary medicine are exactly alike! Depending on your experience and skills, you'll have opportunities to:

  • Assist veterinarians with appointments, examinations, and treatments.
  • Provide compassionate nursing care to patients.
  • Perform diagnostics, collect samples, and assist with laboratory testing.
  • Support surgical and dental procedures, anesthesia, and patient recovery.
  • Educate clients and help them make informed decisions about their pets' care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and communicate with the veterinary team.
  • Rotate between appointments and treatment/surgery to keep your skills sharp.

Schedule & Compensation

Full-Time | 30–40 hours per week

  • Three to four 9–10 hour shifts per week
  • Hospital hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM
  • Rotating Saturdays, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM (typically twice per month)

Pay: $16–$22 per hour, depending on experience and skills. We welcome candidates with a foundation in veterinary medicine who are eager to grow. Additional skills in anesthesia, IV catheter placement, dentistry, and surgical nursing are highly valued but not required.

Benefits & Perks

We love taking care of the people who take care of our patients!

  • $100 annual scrub allowance
  • Continuing education support and opportunities for professional growth
  • 35% discount on veterinary services
  • Pharmacy, food, and in-house labs at cost + 10%
