Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to animals in a veterinary setting, assisting veterinarians in various procedures, and ensuring the well-being of our patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of animal physiology and veterinary terminology, along with hands-on experience in animal handling and care while practicing fear-free techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed.
  • Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any changes to the veterinarian.
  • Prepare animals for surgery, including anesthesia administration and catheter placement.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
  • Provide education to pet owners on proper care and treatment plans.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.
  • Handle animals safely using appropriate restraint techniques.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of animal physiology and veterinary terminology.
  • Proficiency in animal catheterization and restraint techniques.
  • Experience with dog handling and general pet care practices.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology related to veterinary practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
  • Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners.

    Experience:

    • Veterinary clinic: 1+ years (Required)
    • Licensed Veterinary Technician (RVT/CVT/LVT): Strongly Preferred
