Position Overview: Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a confident and experienced Veterinary Technician with 2+ years of hands-on clinical experience to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a technician who is comfortable utilizing their technical skills independently, enjoys learning, and wants to be part of a practice that genuinely values technician input.

You will play an integral role in patient care, diagnostics, and client communication while working in a positive, well-supported environment. *Surgery experience is preferred (i.e. credentialed technician with skills in dental procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and patient care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and blood draws with confidence
  • Prepare and evaluate cytology samples
  • Assist with outpatient appointments, treatments, and diagnostics
  • Utilize in-house laboratory equipment and diagnostic tools
  • Provide high-quality nursing care and patient monitoring
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and team members to deliver exceptional patient care
  • Maintain accurate medical records and uphold hospital protocols
  • Assist veterinarians in physical exams, diagnostics, and medical treatments
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and fluid administration
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and prescribed treatments
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist in surgical procedures
  • Conduct dental prophylaxis, including scaling and polishing
  • Take and develop radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the veterinarian
  • Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, feces, cytology)
  • Maintain accurate patient records and medical history documentation
  • Educate pet owners on preventive care, post-surgical care, and treatment plans
  • Assist in emergency situations, providing stabilization and critical care support
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of treatment areas and equipment
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals
  • Train and mentor veterinary assistants as needed

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and restrain animals up to 50 lbs

• Exposure to noise, odors, animal dander, and potential hazards

• Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician in a small animal practice
  • CVT or 2–5 years of hands-on veterinary technician experience with a strong surgical background is ideal
  • Strong technical skill set, including blood draws and cytology preparation
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Passion for veterinary medicine, patient care and continuous learning and professional growth

Schedule, Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: competitive hourly rate based on experience
  • Sign-On Bonus for full-time employees: $1k, paid after 90 days of employment, 1 year claw back
  • Flexible Scheduling Options:
    • Four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts
    • Rotating Saturdays with scheduling flexibility
    • Flexible scheduling options for Part-Time employees
