General Manager of Hospital Operations
Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital | Gardnerville, NV
Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital is looking for a dynamic, visionary General Manager of Hospital Operations to help lead our growing hospital into its next chapter.
With 15+ doctors and 70+ team members, this is an opportunity to lead a large, diverse team and make a meaningful impact on hospital operations, team development, and future growth.
Serving Carson Valley and surrounding communities since 1955, our AAHA-accredited hospital combines a longstanding commitment to compassionate care with progressive veterinary medicine. We offer general practice, urgent and emergency care, and services for exotic pets, with care available seven days a week.
With continued growth and plans for a new facility, we’re looking for a leader who can see the possibilities, turn ideas into action, and bring the team along.
A hospital with room to make an impact
Our team provides comprehensive preventive care, dentistry, and surgery, supported by advanced capabilities including CT imaging, ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, and laparoscopic and orthopedic surgery. This breadth of care creates an engaging environment for a leader who enjoys managing complex operations and supporting teams across multiple service areas.
What you’ll lead
You’ll oversee the business and people side of hospital operations, partnering closely with medical leadership to support excellent patient care, a strong team, and sustainable growth.
Daily operations: Align staffing, workflows, and resources to keep the hospital running effectively.
Team development: Coach leaders, support employee growth, and build a culture of communication and accountability.
Business performance: Manage budgets, monitor key metrics, and turn opportunities for improvement into action.
Growth and expansion: Help prepare the team and operations for the new facility and future growth.
Leadership partnerships: Collaborate with medical leadership to balance business priorities with patient, client, and team needs.
Client experience: Support consistent, compassionate service throughout the hospital.
Who will thrive here
You’re a strategic thinker who stays connected to the day-to-day needs of your team. You bring energy, sound judgment, and the ability to guide people through change.
We’re looking for:
Demonstrated success leading complex operations in veterinary medicine, human healthcare, or retail.
Experience leading large teams, developing managers, and building strong working relationships.
Strong experience managing financial performance and staffing.
The ability to translate a long-term vision into clear priorities and practical steps.
A collaborative leadership style that balances support with accountability.
Confidence partnering with medical professionals and business leaders.
Multi-site leadership experience is a plus.
Veterinary experience is welcome, and we’re also interested in accomplished leaders from other industries who bring relevant operational experience and a willingness to learn veterinary hospital operations.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary: $120,000–$130,000, plus bonus potential.
Benefits for eligible employees include:
Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
A 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.
Paid vacation and sick leave.
Life insurance and disability coverage.
An Employee Assistance Program and wellness resources.
Discounts on veterinary care for your pets.
Professional development and opportunities to grow within the NVA network.
