This role is ideal for a technician who excels in the operating room and finds fulfillment in maintaining the highest standards of patient care. From induction to recovery, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring patient safety, surgical efficiency, and outstanding medical outcomes.
- Prepare patients, surgical suites, and equipment for procedures
- Perform dental cleanings while exhibiting proficiency in dental radiography
- Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia safely and accurately
- Maintain sterility and aseptic technique throughout procedures
- Anticipate the surgeon’s needs and assist with surgical instruments and equipment
- Ensure all surgical charges and records are complete and accurate in Cornerstone
- Clean, wrap, and autoclave surgical instruments and packs
- Communicate clearly with veterinarians and other team members regarding patient status
- Monitor hospitalized surgical patients and provide attentive, compassionate care
- A experienced veterinary surgery technician (or CVT - Surgery)
- Prior experience in veterinary surgery and anesthesia required
- Strong technical skills, including IV catheter placement, intubation, and anesthesia monitoring
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Ability to multitask, anticipate needs, and stay calm under pressure
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills and emotional intelligence
