Experienced Veterinary Technician (LVT)
Join Our Team!
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced small animal practice. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, and able to multitask while maintaining a high standard of patient care. This position requires someone who can work efficiently with minimal supervision and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Obtain blood samples through venipuncture
- Place and maintain intravenous (IV) catheters
- Safely position patients for diagnostic radiographs and take high quality images
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical and dental procedures
- Assist with surgical preparation, procedures, and recovery
- Perform dental prophylaxis (cleanings) and assist with dental radiographs efficiently
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Provide exceptional patient care and client communication
- Assist with patient restraint, nursing care, and hospitalization
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment and surgical areas
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of vet tech experience in a high volume clinical setting
- Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, surgery, and dentistry
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a busy hospital environment
- Comfortable working independently while knowing when to seek assistance
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) preferred but experienced non-credentialed technicians will also be considered
