Animal Hospital of Lubbock is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our established three-doctor small animal practice in Lubbock, TX.

We're looking for a dependable, team-oriented technician who enjoys staying busy, building relationships with clients and coworkers, and using a broad range of clinical skills. You'll be joining an experienced team with several long-tenured employees who know our hospital, clients, and patients well and genuinely care about the work they do.

About Animal Hospital of Lubbock

Animal Hospital of Lubbock is a busy small animal veterinary practice providing comprehensive medical care for dogs and cats in the Lubbock community.

Our technicians are involved throughout the patient visit and currently work across multiple areas of the hospital. As our team continues to grow, we're working toward creating additional opportunities for technicians to rotate between exam rooms, surgery, and patient care based on experience, skill level, and professional interests.

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Technician, responsibilities may include:

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
• Obtain patient histories and vital signs
• Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Collect and process laboratory samples
• Run in-house laboratory diagnostics
• Take and process digital radiographs
• Prepare patients and equipment for surgery
• Monitor anesthesia and support surgical recovery
• Assist with dental procedures
• Administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments
• Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients
• Perform technician appointments
• Educate clients on medications, treatments, and preventive care
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Maintain clean, organized treatment areas and medical equipment
• Work collaboratively with veterinarians and support staff to maintain efficient hospital flow

What We're Looking For

• Previous Veterinary Technician experience required
• Credentialed and experienced non-credentialed technicians are welcome to apply
• Strong patient handling and veterinary nursing skills
• Surgery and anesthesia experience is a plus
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced small animal hospital
• Strong communication and client service skills
• Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Takes initiative and recognizes where support is needed
• Collaborative approach and respect for experienced teammates
• Adaptable and open to continued learning and change
• Avimark experience is a plus, but not required

We're especially interested in someone who can join an established team, build strong relationships, and contribute while continuing to develop their own clinical skills.

Schedule

Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available

• Hospital hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Rotating Saturdays: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
• Full-time schedules based on hospital needs
• Part-time candidates must be available for 2–3 full shifts per week
