Southview Animal Hospital

Veterinarian | General Practice & Urgent Care

Southview Animal Hospital is seeking a veterinarian to join one of the largest and most medically progressive small animal hospitals in Minnesota. With 18 doctors, over 70 support staff, and a true seven day per week urgent care and emergency service, Southview offers a clinical environment that few hospitals can match.

We are intentionally built to support patients and their families across the full life of a pet, extending well beyond traditional general practice. In addition to comprehensive GP care, our hospital provides urgent care and emergency services, advanced diagnostics, and access to boarded specialists who visit on a regular basis. Our doctors practice medicine at a level that reflects their interests, skills, and career goals whether that is high volume GP, urgent care, advanced diagnostics, or collaborative case management with specialists.

What sets Southview apart

  • 7 days per week urgent care and emergency services
  • Advanced diagnostics including CT, multiple ultrasound units, digital radiography, and digital dental radiography
  • Therapy and surgical lasers, endoscopy and scope capabilities
  • Full in-house laboratory and dedicated pharmacy
  • 13 exam rooms, 2 surgery suites, 1 dental suite, and a specialty procedure room
  • Regular access to boarded specialists 1 to 2 times per month
  • Active collaboration with 60 rescue organizations
  • Southview is a fast paced, high trust hospital that prioritizes growth, autonomy, and collaboration.
Our doctors work closely together, share cases freely, and support one another across service lines. Leadership is hands on and visible, with daily huddles, monthly meetings, and a strong focus on communication, alignment, and culture, plus fun after hours events that actually feel worth attending.
We primarily see small and companion animals with some exotics. Doctors are supported by a deep, experienced technician and support team, allowing you to focus on medicine rather than bottlenecks.

Who we are looking for

  • A veterinarian interested in general practice, urgent care, or a blend of both
  • Open to all experience levels, including new graduates and seasoned clinicians
  • Comfortable or interested in a collaborative, high case variety environment
  • Flexible schedule with weekend rotation support

Compensation and benefits

  • Highly competitive compensation
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401k with employer match
  • Generous CE allowance
  • Uniform allowance and additional benefits
