East Maryland Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced full-time Veterinary Technician to join our team and assist our 2, soon to be 3 amazing doctors!
East Maryland Animal Hospital is a veterinary hospital providing medical, surgical and dental care as well as grooming and boarding for cats and dogs. We proudly achieved and have maintained AAHA Accreditation.

Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Job Summary:
The ideal Veterinary Technician is outgoing, enthusiastic, compassionate and not afraid to get dirty. You will use your communication skills, problem solving skills and be a passionate patient advocate. You will be responsible for excellent patient care, empathy, client education, and maintaining hospital cleanliness. You will need to be professional, trustworthy, punctual, and love smiling.
Candidates must possess the ability to execute treatment orders as directed by a DVM (to include placing IV catheters, phlebotomy, injections, perioperative surgical nursing, etc.).
This position can be full-time or part-time; scheduled days and hours may vary based on hospital need. Weekend work is on a rotational basis. This position requires standing for long periods of time and some heavy lifting may be involved.
Technician duties include, but are not limited to:
·Assisting the doctors in exam rooms and in surgery
·Routine patient care and medical record keeping
·Diagnostic sample collection, laboratory analysis, and diagnostic imaging
·Client communications, including reviewing treatment plans and cost estimates with clients
·Addressing the client’s concerns and patient’s needs
·Educating pet owners about preventative medicine, common illnesses, and testing
The Veterinary Technician reports to the Hospital Manager and in his/her absence, the Managing doctor.
Schedule:
- 32-40 hours weekly
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends on a rotational basis
Education:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Veterinary Technician Certification not required but a plus
Experience:
- Veterinary experience required
- Knowledge of animal care and handling
- Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment
·AVImark software experience a plus!

- Phoenix, Az (85012): Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
