Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities

  • Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining an organized treatment area.
  • Provide compassionate care and comfort to our patients throughout their visit.

What We Are Looking For

  • Someone dependable, adaptable, and comfortable with changing priorities.
  • A team player who understands that helping one another is essential in a small practice.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfort working with both people and animals.
  • Someone who can stay organized and maintain a calm, friendly demeanor in a busy environment.
  • A genuine interest in veterinary medicine and providing excellent patient care.

Veterinary experience is a plus, but not required! We are happy to consider someone new to the field who has the right attitude, work ethic, and eagerness to learn.

Why Join Ladysmith Veterinary Hospital?

  • Be part of a small, close-knit team where everyone matters.
  • Work in a community-focused practice where relationships are important.
  • Enjoy a flexible schedule that allows for a great work-life balance.
  • Gain hands-on experience and opportunities to learn multiple aspects of veterinary medicine.
  • Work alongside a team that values communication, flexibility, and supporting one another.
  • Have the opportunity to grow with our practice as we look ahead to changes and new opportunities in 2027.

Room to Grow: While this position is initially part-time, there is potential for the role to transition into a full-time opportunity as the practice grows and needs evolve.

The Bottom Line

We aren't necessarily looking for someone who knows everything. We are looking for someone who is excited to learn, willing to jump in wherever needed, enjoys being part of a team, and wants to make a difference in the lives of pets and the people who love them.

If you are looking for a welcoming place to learn, contribute, and grow while maintaining balance outside of work, we would love to meet you!
