Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain is looking to add an experienced kennel assistant to our growing Team! We are a 5-doctor practice that offers medical, Urgent Care/Sick visits, and surgical services, including laser surgery, BOAZ, and dental. We have a large boarding facility, retail, and grooming. We have been serving the community since 1989, and our boarding facility is very busy, with several clients we see often.

We foster a team environment and emphasize patient care to all of our boarders. We strive to make sure all of our clients are loved, exercised, and thier areas kept clean and comfortable.
The ideal AHSM Kennel Attendant should have 5 years of experience in boarding and animal care and handling. With knowledge of behavior and the ability to administer medications. Be able to work with Dogs and Cats and maintain thier areas in a very clean manner. Must have a good work ethic, be on time, and be able to do a lot of movement and withstand loud noise.
- 3-5 years of experience in a small animal general practice setting.
- Avimark medical database experience.
- Excellent communication and written skills, as well as customer relations skills
- Be able to multitask and keep a calm environment
- Canine pet handling - Cat knowledge and handling
- Preventive care knowledge
- Handle tough conversations (cost, euthanasia, medical needs)
- Customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Motivated to learn and continue your education.
- Timely and focused - A self-starter - Motivated
Provides an excellent and expeditious client experience; Is aware of patient needs and the correct monitoring and documentation of all care, and communicates with the treatment area when needed. Always has the well-being of the animal and its treatment in focus and keeps the team aware of all information. Good communication and documentation skills.
Starting wage is based on experience.
Wage and Extras
- Based on the candidate's knowledge $14 to $16 an hour.

Days/hours .
M-F 645am-6pm / and every other Saturday and Sunday.
Occasional holidays are a must.
Schedules are made out 30 days in advance and are 4 10-hour shifts.
