Ridgetop Animal Hospital is looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our growing team in Silverdale, Washington.

We are a busy, progressive small-animal hospital that blends high-quality general practice with same-day urgent care, advanced surgery, dentistry, and a diverse medical caseload. 🐾 What Makes Ridgetop Different?

Our team sees much more than routine wellness appointments. On any given week, our LVTs may be involved in preventative care, complex medical cases, same-day urgent care, dentistry, anesthesia, hospitalized patient care, and advanced surgical procedures.

Our surgical caseload includes procedures such as TPLO, lateral sutures, MPL repair, fracture repair, TECA, cystotomy, splenectomy, gastrointestinal surgery, PU, FHO/DFO, amputations, and more.

We also continue to invest in our hospital and the tools our team has available, including digital radiography, in-house IDEXX diagnostics, dental radiography, advanced anesthesia monitoring, and therapeutic laser technology.

Most importantly, we want our LVTs to practice as LVTs. We value strong technical skills, clinical judgment, patient advocacy, teamwork, and the ability to take ownership of patient care while working collaboratively with our veterinarians and support team.

? What You'll Get to Do

As an LVT at Ridgetop, your responsibilities may include:

• Perform comprehensive anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery for surgical and dental patients
• Perform dental prophylaxis and assist with comprehensive dental procedures
• Obtain diagnostic radiographs using proper positioning, technique, and radiation safety
• Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture
• Collect, prepare, process, and evaluate laboratory samples
• Utilize in-house diagnostic equipment and coordinate reference laboratory testing
• Administer medications, vaccines, treatments, and fluid therapy under veterinarian direction
• Triage and assist with same-day urgent and emergency cases
• Provide nursing care and monitoring for hospitalized patients
• Prepare patients and the surgical suite for procedures
• Assist with advanced orthopedic and soft-tissue surgeries
• Provide emergency nursing care, including CPR and stabilization when needed
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with the veterinary team
• Educate and communicate with clients regarding treatments, medications, procedures, and home care
• Support and mentor veterinary assistants as appropriate
• Advocate for Fear Free handling and individualized patient care
• Work closely with our veterinarians, assistants, and CSRs to keep patient care moving safely and efficiently

Required:

• Current Washington State Veterinary Technician License
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent attention to detail and patient safety
• Ability to prioritize and think critically in a fast-paced environment
• Confidence working independently within the scope of an LVT while knowing when to ask for support
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and coworkers
• Commitment to continued learning and professional growth

Experience with Avimark and IDEXX equipment is a plus, but not required. Experience in surgery, dentistry, urgent care, or advanced anesthesia is also welcome — but we are equally interested in the right LVT who is excited to continue developing those skills.
