Veterinary Technician
- Assist veterinarians during appointments, examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia throughout surgical procedures.
- Assist with patient recovery and post-operative care.
- Perform dental cleanings under the direction of a veterinarian.
- Obtain diagnostic samples including blood, urine, and other laboratory specimens.
- Perform in-house laboratory testing and assist with diagnostics.
- Take high-quality digital radiographs using proper positioning techniques.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and discharge instructions.
- Assist with emergency and urgent patient care when needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and treatment areas.
- Work collaboratively with veterinarians, assistants, client service representatives, and the entire hospital team to provide outstanding patient care.
- Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) credential required.
- One or more years of veterinary technician experience preferred.
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical nursing skills.
- Experience with laboratory procedures and diagnostic imaging.
- Excellent communication and client education skills.
- Ability to safely handle animals of varying sizes and temperaments.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced veterinary hospital.
