Administer anesthesia as directed by the veterinarian and continuously monitor the animal's vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, oxygen levels) during surgery.
  • Preoperative Preparation:
Prepare the animal for surgery by administering preoperative medications, taking vital signs, placing IV catheters, and ensuring the animal is appropriately anesthetized.
  • Postoperative Care:
Monitor animals during the recovery phase, including pain management, administering medications, and ensuring the animal’s comfort and safety.
  • Sterility Maintenance:
Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, sterilize instruments, and ensure all surgical equipment is in proper working order.
  • Medical Records and Documentation:
Record detailed surgical procedures, anesthesia logs, patient vitals, and medications administered. Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and standards of care.
  • Client Education:
Provide owners with clear instructions for postoperative care, including medication administration, wound care, and any restrictions or follow-up appointments.
  • Equipment and Inventory Management:
Ensure surgical tools and equipment are sanitized, organized, and properly stocked. Assist with inventory control for surgical supplies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Licensing & Certification:
Valid Florida state licensure as a Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, or CVT).
  • Experience:
Previous experience in veterinary surgery, anesthesia monitoring, or a similar clinical setting required.
  • Technical Skills:
