Pampered Paws Animal Hospital & Resort in Oxford, MS, is seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our dedicated team! This role is essential to the health, safety, and happiness of the pets in our care.

Our hospital is located on 6 beautiful acres surrounded by rolling hills and wildlife. Just minutes from the heart of Oxford and the University of Mississippi. Pampered Paws is more than a veterinary hospital; we also provide boarding, grooming, and daycare services in our on-site pet resort, making this a unique and exciting place to build your career in animal care.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide compassionate care and supervision for dogs and cats in both the hospital and resort.
  • Feed, water, and walk animals based on their individual needs.
  • Supervise dogs in play yards, ensuring safe and positive socialization.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in kennels, play areas, and common spaces.
  • Monitor pets for signs of illness, stress, or behavioral changes and report concerns.
  • Assist with bathing, nail trims, and basic grooming when needed.
  • Safely handle animals of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting with check-ins and check-outs.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in animal care, kennels, or a veterinary hospital is a plus, but training is provided.
  • Comfortable handling dogs and cats in a calm, confident, and compassionate way.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work well within a team-focused environment.
  • Reliable transportation to ensure punctuality.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and work in varying indoor/outdoor conditions.
