Bay Moorings Animal Hospital is a thriving, full-service veterinary hospital serving the St. Petersburg - Skyway Marina community with compassionate and comprehensive care.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and provide exceptional patient care.
About the Role:
As an experienced Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in the smooth and efficient operation of our hospital. You will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including assisting veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and procedures; performing diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; administering medications; providing nursing care; and educating clients on pet health and wellness.
Responsibilities:
·Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
·Perform diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures.
·Administer medications and treatments.
·Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients.
·Monitor patient vital signs and conditions.
·Educate clients on pet health and wellness.
·Maintain accurate patient records.
·Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
·Maintain and manage inventory of supplies and equipment.
·Assist with other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
·Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred, but not required.
·Minimum of 4 years of experience in a veterinary clinic setting.
·Strong knowledge of veterinary anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
·Proficiency in performing common veterinary procedures, including phlebotomy, ECGs, and radiography.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
·Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
·Ability to lift and move animals of varying sizes.
·High school diploma or equivalent.
·Ability to work weekends.
