Veterinary Receptionist

Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced full-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our customer service team.  The ideal candidate will have great customer service skills, be professional, upbeat, friendly and comfortable using a computer.  Previous veterinary experience preferred. 

Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital is a five doctor general practice, primarily seeing dogs and cats.  We also provide a full service grooming department, day and long term boarding with luxury suites.  We’re AAHA accredited ensuring our clients, patients and staff obtain top of the line medicine and customer service.  At Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital we take pride in what we do!  If you have a passion for animals and enjoy working with people, we would love to hear from you.

Qualifications

  • Have great people and customer service skills
  • Must be reliable, detail-oriented person and compassionate
  • Veterinary Reception experience 1-2 years required
  • Must be willing to work some weekends and flexible shifts
  • Must be 18 years old or older

Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet clients in-person and over the phone, addressing inquiries related to veterinary care, boarding, and grooming services.
  • Schedule appointments for veterinary visits, boarding reservations, and grooming appointments.
  • Provide clients with information on pricing, service details, and availability.
  • Provide updates to pet owners about their animals' well-being as requested.
  • Handle inquiries and address concerns from pet owners professionally and courteously
  • Detail oriented and multi-tasking abilities
  • Great work ethic and team player
  • Handle incoming and outgoing email
  • Process payments for visits, medications, food, grooming and boarding
  • Go over wellness plans and provide billing estimates to clients
  • Check in clients dropping off patients for daily procedures
  • Process daily check-in paperwork for patient procedures
  • Able to work weekends, morning or afternoon shifts. 8 hour shifts generally.
  • Ensure a welcoming and organized reception area
  • Provide excellent customer service and help maintain a positive client experience
  • Able to lift 35lbs

We are open Mon- Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday 8am-4pm.  The starting wage for this position is $17.89/hr,- $20.00hr. Compensation is negotiable & based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.
